MuscleVIEWER VR LOWER BODY focuses on the comprehensive study of the major muscles of the lower extremities (pelvis, legs, and feet). The app is designed to list and display origins, insertions, and actions for each muscle.

To facilitate targeted learning, the user can selectively request viewing only those muscles that act on one of the three main joints (hip, knee, ankle), or those that predominantly act in one of the three cardinal planes (sagittal, coronal, transverse), while other muscles are faded for visual clarity.

Key interactive features include:

  • The ability to remove individual muscles by "grabbing" them using the VR controllers.

  • An auto-replacement feature that returns all removed muscles to their original positions with the click of a button.

  • The model display provides an immediate anatomical reference, with the right half of the lower extremity showing muscles and the left half showing only bones for landmark reference.

  • The entire 3D model can be picked up and positioned by the user to mimic a dissection table orientation or any other user-selected viewing choice.
